Suggested Materials
- Leather - 8 square ft of lightweight leather no more than 1mm thick
- Heavy weight iron on fusing - 1 metre
- Buckrum - 4 cm x 60cm strip
- Medium to heavyweight lining - 0.5 metre
- Double capped rivets x 8
- The stiffener for the base - leather board or card
Suggested Tools
- I have designed all our patterns in a way that makes them achievable on domestic home sewing machines.
- You will need a few specific things to sew leather, a Teflon foot, roller foot or walking foot & a zipper foot.
- Leather point needles size 110/18, nylon bonded thread size m60 or polyester thread.
- Scissors, rotary cutter, pliers, hole punch, rubber mallet, copydex glue, rivet setting tool, awl to score leather or a gel pen, burnishing agent called tragacanth gum, plastic or metal ruler, cutting mat, iron and a small screwdriver for the tassel holder.
